Service area and availability

What we do today

Three different things are often confused: a website you can search, a phone someone answers, and a navigator who stays with you. Here is exactly which of those we offer.

In one sentence

Search is open to everyone. Send a request or call and we reply within 24 hours.

Available to everyone, anywhere

  • Searching the resource directory, with no account
  • Sending a help request, answered within 24 hours
  • Calling or emailing us, answered within 24 hours
  • The guides for each kind of need, and the national crisis numbers

Not available yet

  • An assigned navigator who stays with your case over weeks — we help by phone, email and referral instead
  • Around-the-clock staffing; outside working hours voicemail and email are read next
  • Text messaging
  • Online accounts and a provider dashboard

Where our information is strongest

Search and requests
Anywhere in the United States
Checked listings
Minnesota, starting with the Twin Cities metro
Outside that area
We still read your request and look with you, and we may also point you to your local 211 for programs we have not checked ourselves.

When someone answers the phone

Call (612) 886-8346. If no one answers, leave a message with a number or email and we call back within 24 hours. We publish specific staffed hours here as soon as they are fixed, rather than guessing at them.
