Impact
We will not publish a number we cannot stand behind
Impact claims decide whether people trust us and whether funders should. Here is exactly what we will count and how.
No figures published yet
There are no verified service records to report yet. Directory listings are not counted as people assisted or referrals made. When reporting begins, each figure will show its reporting period, definition and last review date.
What each measure will mean
- People assisted
- Distinct people whose request was reviewed by a navigator, counted once per reporting period regardless of how many times they contacted us.
- Requests received
- Every request received through any channel, including ones we could not help with. Requests we declined or could not serve are reported too.
- Referrals made
- Referrals sent to a provider with the person's recorded permission. A resource listing viewed on this website is never counted as a referral.
- Assistance received
- Cases where we confirmed with the person, or with the provider with permission, that help was actually received. A referral alone does not count.
- Unmet needs
- Requests where no resource was available. We report this figure alongside the positive ones, not instead of them.
Rules we hold ourselves to
- Test records and directory listings never appear in service totals.
- Numbers come from stored records, never from estimates or projections.
- A figure without a defined reporting period is not published.
- Corrections are published alongside the figure they correct.
- Published counts are never small enough to identify an individual.
